Andy Ye Duan (段晔)is a Professor in the School of Computing at Clemson University. Between 2022 and 2023, He was a Professor and the Department Chair of the Department of Computer Science at Michigan Technological University. Prior to that, he was a faculty in the Electrical Engineering and Computer Science Department at the University of Missouri. He was the Director of the Cognitive Internet of Things (CIoT) for Intelligent Communities – Industry Supported Consortium (ISC), and the Director of the Center for Urban Safety. He was a core faculty member of the MU Institute of Data Science and Informatics, an affiliated faculty of the Thompson Center for Autism and Neurodevelopmental Disorders at the University of Missouri, and an Associate Member of Siteman Cancer Center. His research interests include computer vision, computer graphics, machine learning, and biomedical imaging, with a special focus on 3D deep learning. He has received funding from NSF, NIH, DoD, DoE, DoED, AFRL, ARL, NGA, Honeywell, Bosch, Nikon, etc. He holds a Ph.D degree and a M.S degree from Computer Science from the State University of New York at Stony Brook. He holds a M.S degree in Mathematics from Utah State University and a B.S degree in Mathematics from Peking University.
